Is it ok to ignore a yeast infection?

Question by : Is it ok to ignore a yeast infection?
I’m pretty much positive that I have a yeast infection but I’m not close to my mom at all and I can’t bring it up. I’m a virgin so it’s not an STD. Will my infection go away on it’s own???

My symptoms are: “cottage cheese” discharge, smelly vagina, swollen vagina lips, non-stop itching, and it’s bright red.
I’m only 13…any advice is appreciated!

Go talk with your school nurse. She can tell you what products to get specifically as I only know of “Vagisil” and had no luck with it.

  1. Crystal… they have monistat at the grocery store for yeast infections. Its near the maxi pad isles. I would not let this go. Be healthy and feel better. Tell your mom – shes a female too remember?

  2. you dont have to tell your mum but it would be good if you could as she would pay mst likely she will understand she has most likely had it before if yu dnt want to tell her get some special cream from the pharmacy or tablets good luck

  3. Well hon, truth be told, I have been getting yeast infections since I was about 3 or 4. There is nothing to be worried about. It is normal and I am pretty sure your mother would have some cream for you to put “down there” or a pill. I recommend that you use a cream because the pill is very uncomfortable. And it is okay to leave it, I have before and nothing happened. But I would still use the cream. I hope this helps sweetie!
